Sarah Toomer

Sarah is a Lawyer in Murdoch Lawyers' Family Law team.

Biography

My name is Sarah and I returned to the Murdoch Lawyers Family Law team in October 2025.

I have a background in family law and personal injuries law (historical abuse (institutional and elite athletes) and Australian Defence Force matters).

No matter the area of law I am working in, I believe connecting with clients is vital to ensure they are properly supported throughout their legal journey, which can sometimes be one of the most stressful periods of their lives.

I am passionate about working in the area of family law because I enjoy helping families achieve the best possible outcome, tailored to their specific needs.

In 2025, I finished my law degree through the University of Southern Queensland and in early 2026, I obtained my Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law. I was admitted as a lawyer in June 2026.

Whilst I am newly admitted, I have been working in the legal field since 2017, starting my career as a junior paralegal at Murdoch Lawyers many years ago.

I have been a member of the Downs and South West Queensland Law Society since 2024 and have been an integral part of the Ladies in Law Luncheon Committee since 2019.

Outside of work I enjoy racing around after my two young children, spending time with my family, CrossFit and cooking.
