Desley Hartin

Desley is a Paralegal in Murdoch Lawyers' Litigation & Insolvency team

Biography

My name is Desley, I joined the Litigation team at Murdoch Lawyers as a paralegal in 2025. I work in the litigation, insolvency, dispute resolution area which also incorporates bankruptcy matters in commercial, agricultural and estate related areas.

Since starting my legal career in 1992, I have worked for both sole practitioners and legal practices in Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba in Queensland as well as Tamworth in New South Wales. This has provided opportunities for me to gain extensive knowledge and experience which I bring to my current role assisting the experienced solicitors in our litigation team. I was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in New South Wales in 1999 and a Commissioner for Declarations in Queensland in 2000.

My journey in the legal field has always been driven by a desire to help people. I enjoy assisting clients to navigate the legal system and support them throughout their matter. I am proud to be part of the Murdoch Lawyers team whose purpose is “Making People’s Lives Better”.

My husband and I settled in the Toowoomba region in 2001 and raised our three children. When I am not in the office I can be found working on our farm or in my garden.
